9 Months

November 27 2012. Our little Arabellas turned 9 months. Since the 27th fell on a weekday, we had to celebrate it in the morning, just before their Daddy reports for work. Papo was also here to celebrate with us and we also had to wake up earlier since their Mamo and Mommy Nik was waiting for them to go online in Skype (it was around 10pm UK time).

The little baby girls were dressed to impress. They wore the shirts and denim shorts their Mommy Nik gave them with matching headbands and socks too.

We were able to do a photo-op in the morning since the day before I made sure to buy a cake for this milestone.

As of this time, there were a lot of development in terms of their behavior, motor skills, oral skills...well a lot really as well as some unforgettable-but-lesson-learned incidents along the way.

  • Ariana, when we came home to Bacolod last Masskara, became a bit like a cry-baby. Well, she IS a baby and babies cry but she does not usually cry easily and for no reason at all. It must the change of environment and new faces around.
  • Alexa has a cooler temperament compared to Ariana which is surprising because she (Alexa) used to be the short-tempered one.
  • Bad-mummy-incident: Alexa had a cut on her finger. She was being carried by her yaya when she tried to reach for her Daddy's razor on a low cabinet. Her right finger bled a lot which is why we had to do first-aid and wrap her hands in socks (we can't find their mittens) so that she can't remove the gauze. Lesson-for-mummy: Always keep sharp objects inside a drawer or cabinet.
  • Ariana can easily do a kneeling position
  • Alexa can master the sitting-position-from-a-lying-position
  • Ariana can master sitting position
  • Both are experts in crawling
  • They started to eat boiled rice
  • Alexa enjoys jumping when being held and knows how to smile in front of the camera
  • Ariana can make out words sounding like "ma" or "am" or "mami"
  • Both can do the close-open trick with their hands
  • Alexa can master standing up, and she can stand inside the playpen
  • Ariana is learning how to stand up and was able to stand for the first time last 11/10/2012
  • Alexa knows how to clap her hands
  • They have their walker sessions every afternoon
  • Both can make words sounding like"inde" and "mam"
  • They sleep in a "tuwad" position
  • Bad-mummy-incident: Ariana was standing inside her crib grabbing the rails to support herself. She tried to take a few steps, lost her balance and the left side of her face hit the beam of the crib. Lesson-for-mummy: Always make sure that the edges and the inside perimeter of the crib has enough pillows to cushion their fall.
