A Day at the Beach

We headed to the beach early morning yesterday, December 15, 2012. This will be the little baby girls' first beach experience. So off we went as early as 6:30am and headed to Portofino. A rather affordable beach in Mactan compared to the sprouting resort hotels, Portofino is the usual go-to beach if we would just like to unwind or if we miss being near the sea. 

It was still low tide when we arrived so the girls had fun feeling beneath their feet, the smooth sand which is usually submerged in water when the tide comes in. They were apparently in wonder why we permitted them to be barefoot instead of making them wear their sandals LOL.

 We had their feet dipped in the water as well. With the gentle waves coming to the shore, Alexa was nonchalant or perhaps she did not mind getting her feet wet. Ariana, on the other hand, seems quite apprehensive even with the gentle lapping of the waves. I tried to let them play, letting their feet make splashes, especially Ariana so she can overcome her fear.

It was a brief stay. We just brought spaghetti and bread&cheese for breakfast, then at around 10am we prepared to leave since it will soon be too hot for the babies. I am just glad that they finally experienced something I personally love...the sun, sand and sea.
