Some interesting facts about Geneva:
- Geneva is located in the westernmost corner of Switzerland, on the banks of Lake Geneva.
- Geneva is the most international city in Europe, with over 40 percent of its residents coming from outside Switzerland.
- Geneva is the most populous city of Romandy (the French-speaking part of Switzerland).
- Lake Geneva claims the distinction of being the largest lake in Europe. Though Lake Geneva is not called Lake Geneva. The proper name is Lac Leman, and the Swiss cringe to hear it called Lake Geneva.
- Geneva has the shortest commuting time of any major city in the world.
- The European Headquarters of The International Red Cross and the World Health Organization are in Geneva.
- The World Wide Web was invented and developed in Geneva, at the CERN laboratories.
- The average Swiss eats 23lbs of chocolate per year compared to the 11.7lbs consumed by Americans.
- Dog droppings are listed as the top complaint of citizens in Geneva, annually.

Cool, right? I totally love the 5th fact since I was able to witness how amazing their transportation system was, not to mention it's for free! We only got to enjoy most of the commuting during the only weekend we had. And since Geneva is pretty much a small city, we were able to cover almost all fun sights there. Here are some of them.
On our first weekend around town.
