11 months

Before they turn a year old, let me sneak this 11-month post of the two little ladies. Yes, my babies do not seem to be babies anymore. They've grown before my eyes and I still cannot figure out how and when these happened. I guess I am still in denial. But, little reminders like how their feet are longer than the palm of my hand, how they can easily stand on their own and even walk several steps, how they recognize you, how they scream or give a shout out whenever something amuses or annoys them, just make it all clearer that they are growing fast! Ugh, my heart breaks a little knowing that they'll gradually grow into having their own personalities, likes, habits, quirks, etc. They're no longer these little babies who depend on their mummy one hundred percent. Oh well, such is life.

They turned 11 months last January 27. Of course there has to be cake! But then, Ninong Kas invited his friends for dinner and Ninong Gan was also with us so this called for a major cook out. It seemed to be the twins' actual birthday LOL. Since the 27th fell on a Sunday, we went to Church and upon getting home, a photo op with the cake. Little did we know that we will be having cake number 2 on the evening as a gift from our visitors. It was a timely and happy 11 month celebration for the little girls.

Then on that evening, when they were getting ready for bed, we had a sweet surprise (literally!),

Major development/skills/tricks leading to their 11th month:

• Amazed at "impossible" things like objects suspended in the air, shadows.
• Ariana did her first two-steps January 3, 2013
• Ariana gets to be very vocal when she's annoyed or if she wants something, "Ugh!"
• Appetite switch: Alexa's appetite increased while Ariana has gotten a bit "pihikan"
• Both attempt to stand on their own
• They can sleep for longer hours
• Both enjoy walking barefoot (while being held of course)
• Ariana sleeps better when she's co-sleeping with mummy and daddy
• Alexa can sleep longer in her crib
• They master standing but still holding the rails of their playpen
• Nearing their 11th month, both can stand on their own (no hands) for a good 3-5 seconds
• Twin SOP: Upon waking up around 4:30-6:00am (depending on what time they slept), their demand is to go outside the room
• They know what they want and they cry when it's taken away from them
• Can focus more on what is shown on TV
• Current Favorite: Baby Einstein: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
• Use the gym bars on their playpen to swing themselves (in short: bitay2x)
• Ariana has two visible upper front teeth
• Amazed when the cabinet is opened and they see a lot of piled clothes
• Both love to seat on the high chair to watch TV
